Mokuhanga Exhibition at Union College

Takuji Hamanaka, Annie Bisset, April Vollmer, Sandy Wimer and Sherry Lullo

Takuji Hamanaka and April Vollmer traveled to Schenectady in upstate New York to work with students and give a gallery talk for the exhibition “Mokuhanga: Impressions Past and Present” curated by printmaking teacher Sandy Wimer and art historian Sherry Lullo.

Sandy had studied Japanese woodcut printmaking at the Mokuhanga Study Center at Whitman College in Walla Walla last summer and brought her knowledge to students at Union.

Concluding the Third International Mokuhanga Conference

Thank you, IMC2017 Hawaii Board and Associates

Some of the many who made IMC2017 in Honolulu possible.

The IMA is a group of artists, educators and craftspeople dedicated to the promotion of mokuhanga, Japanese waterbased woodcut printmaking for creative artists. The 2017 Board was assisted by the Hawaii Local Committee and many helpers from Hawaii and abroad who together made the Third International Mokuhanga Conference possible.

A new Board and Advisory Board will be announced for 2018. Plans for IMC2020 are underway. Please join our mailing list to keep notified.
